3 types of corporate structuring

3 types of corporate structuring

If you're interested in restructuring your business, you may already be familiar with the options available to you. There are three primary types of corporate structuring. These are...

  1. Limited Liability Companies (LLCs). This structure allows you to gain liability protection for your business while maintaining pass-through taxation benefits.
  2. S Corporations (S Corps). By structuring as an S Corp, you can pass certain income taxes through to your shareholders to avoid double taxation. However, you need to have fewer than 100 shareholders.
  3. C Corporations (C Corps). This type of structure completely separates shareholders', owners' and the corporation's assets. Each group of assets is taxed separately.
